Jacobs Blood.

After Flocke throws Jacob’s body into the fire we see Flocke pick up the knife used to stab Jacob & he walks over to what looks like a red rug on the ground & with the bloody knife Flocke walks over to the red rug & cuts a corner out of it.

I assumed there was some information or significance encoded on the Rug or something but when I re-watched the episode again & I see that he does keep the cut piece of cloth but more important is that Flocke wipes Jacob’s blood onto the cloth & puts it in his pocket.

I thought maybe MIB needed something personal of Jacob’s & that is why he takes the cloth for some purpose like getting off the Island or wherever home is to him but now I think that bloody cloth with Jacob’s blood will be of great significance later…Any Ideas or elaborating will be appreciated thanks.

  1. So could this have something to do with cloning? Both Locke and Christian seem to have two bodies, perhaps with the blood of the dead body they can clone and act as them.

  2. Another strange thing Flocke does in the statue is to drag Jacob’s dead body guards from Ajira around on the floor before leaving the statue together with Ben. It doesn’t look like he’s planning to burn them. Perhaps he’s only working on building up a stash of dead bodies, who knows.

  3. Nice points. Very much two possible scenarios – cloning or proof of the death. Also, what if he cuts the tapestry to prevent it from being complete?

Lots of symbolism in that old tapestry?

  4. Hmmm very interesting, maybe Jacob’s Blood is the only MIB can re-enter the Temple. The season isn’t ending until May i think we have a long wait ahead of us lol

  5. I think the reason he has the cloth is proof that he won the fight. That is spot on. He can clearly enter the temple any time he wants which is why they put ash around the whole thing to keep him out. I think that he is now taking all the leaders of the island, from jacob, richard, and now that asian guy. Once he has all of them I bet he will leave.

  6. Thanks for all the comments contributors & there are some good ideas but if Flocke has to get the blood from ALL the leaders, then why not just get Richards blood right then & there while he just walks past him on the beach?

Flocke seems to know his way around the Island so im sure Richard is kind of useless to him in that way but Flocke did want to talk to Richard privately so hmm, maybe not useless but we will eventually see.

An its a Tapestry? hmm ill look what those are but I think the blood is probably more significant to him, maybe Jacob was his Master at one time but Jacob does refer to him as an old friend but we do see the hieroglyph of what looks like the smoke monster being controlled by what looks like a egyptian or something like that.

  7. BiNG! Always good to see ya around.

Good catch on Flocke saving Jacob’s blood!

I am not sure what it means, right now I am trying to figure out what the hell Christian has been doing.

  8. MIB does not possess bodies, he takes the form of dead people. So the cloning idea doesn’t make any sense. There hasn’t been any cloning thus far. It just is ridiculous.

  9. YA what up Josh,

I just had to check out the ideas flying around on this site, looks like alot more people are visiting the site with alot of new members & alot more guests so hopefully we get more input from them.

Im just about to watch the super bowl which is good since I havent watched since my San Diego Chargers blew it against the damn New York JETS!!!

  10. Has anyone else felt that it was just a damn rug? It’s a tattered piece of red and green striped cloth with some gold ornament. If it was a tapestry or something along the same vein, why would it be on the floor? If Flocke wanted to use something pretty, why not use the tapestry that Jacob was actually making in the previous episode? This one was just to keep Jacob’s crack from getting sandy. I would agree that the blood is what matters. To be honest we never SEE Flocke KEEP the rag. I do think he kept it, but all we see is his arm moving a little bit (watch it again) which could just be him sheathing his blade, so we can only assume he kept it because he went to the trouble of removing the rug scrap instead of just wiping his blade on it.
