Does Miles know something?
Written 10th February
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed Miles acting strange after the bomb goes off? He seems strangely at ease, not surprised or angry or curious about anything. He is still sarcastic, but does not seem at all interested in anything around him. He has no reaction upon finding out they are still on the island. He has no reaction to Juliet’s death. He has no reaction to Sayid’s death, or resurrection. He essentially witnessed or had a hand in his father’s death. I feel like he knows something but doesn’t want to share it. Or maybe he has been claimed. I have wondered why no one asked him to ‘talk’ to Sayid. I am wondering if maybe he did and is just not sharing what he knows. I don’t know… something just seems off about him. Thoughts?

I absolutely agree. Plus what was it he felt / heard from Juliet? There was a definite monstery sounding noise that hasn’t been addressed.
It’s quite possible he already knows exactly what is going to happen and is accepting his own fate. good points
My question is how does he talk to the dead for real. He walked over some graves one time(I think during the Island flashes) and just either overheard or had a conversation with some dead soldiers. He didn’t have to lean over and do what he did over Juliet’s grave, to speak with the soldiers. So is it different sometimes or is he putting on a show sometimes?
ifoundmyloophole, I thought that Miles never talks with the dead, only listens to their last thoughts that somehow seem to stick around for a while in the nerve cells of the deceased?
Miles did not have a pay rise for season 6, thus his lack of interest 🙂
Seriously, Miles knows whats happened to Sayid. Watch it again and look at his reaction next to Sayid dead. He can hear and knows, that is guaranteed. Just we, the audience do not know what he heard.
Possible the actor (and maybe film editor) are being careful not to overplay Miles’ reactions.
According to interviews given by various cast members they know as much, week by week as we do, making it difficult for them to play up certain moments.
Better to play most scenes straight, and with restraint.
I thought the same thing when I saw that … Miles I think knows something more and is either too freaked out to talk to anyone about it or doesn’t understand it completely. Maybe he heard MIB or smokey instead of Sayid and that is why he was confused. So many possible explanations, really.
