Claries infection
My theoire is that Clarie is infected with Rosso, of more to the point whatever had infected Rosso now has infected Clarie. Notice the traps that the two others thought were the crazy french womans, whilst they were trying to find Sawyer with Kate and Jin, Then Claries saves the day at the end of the episode complete with curly hair and trademark riffle. Now why and how are still unclear but if we look and the similarities between Clarie and Rosso. Both gave birth shortly after arriving on the island, both lost there children, ok claire left Aaron but maybe she was taken from him. I think the Infection must have to spread into there bodys via similar circumstances, And what they refer to as an infection is more like a sprit, maybe sayed is infected with somo one we already know but definitely not Jacob as the Asian man would not of wanted Jacob Dead, well there you are let me know your ideas on it.

how do we actually know for certain that Dogen is on Jacob’s side though? we can never be careful when it comes to lost!
but I definitely agree with the Claire Rousseau connection, only I think they’ve both been possessed by someone else entirely, and I have this feeling that there’s some connection between the spirit claiming them, and the women on the island being unable to give birth?
yes i think the women being unable to give birth is a connection. and i agree with there being spirt claiming them i think that sayed is infected with a diffrent spirt maybe one we have alredy seen before, either way the others see them as a threat maybe the spirts are the original others?
maybe the others are just the same spirits infecting new bodies when they can, just repeating over and over? but with a few exceptions? For example, maybe Locke has been infected since Ben shot him, and that was how he could become leader?
I am not convinced Rousseau was infected. Who would have infected her? Ben when he stole Alex? Maybe, but actually more likely it would have been Ethan (who was there when Ben stole her, as a kid). Come to think of it, that would be weird if Ethan infected both claire and Russeau, since there’s so many similarities between the two.
But no one seemed to care enough about Rousseau to try to get her on their side.
The theory is interesting though, definitely makes you think.

good question whataboutme, maybe the infection/spirts needs to enter similar people via similar circumstances. One thing that springs to mind is that Sayed is infected with the Dharma torturer from the 1970’s time line. remember sawer saying “his our you” to sayed back in season 5?
the only reason i say that is because both Rosso and the torturer guy from dharma were both not on the same side as the others, Clearly Dogen see’s them both as a hostile threat!
I love that idea, I can totally see it. But can Sayid and Claire be infected by the same thing at the same time? Ah who knows…
I agree with some of what you’ve said.
At the moment i’m thinking that maybe in the way that people keep coming to the island and a ‘loop’ of sorts, and in reference to the whole game aspect, people on the the island are like chess pieces. The king, queen, rook etc and each person fills a role, it keeps going on, sort of the same game, but different pieces, so Claire is now taking Danielles role.
I’m thinking aswell, Dogen was possibly a doctor, and was basically the former ‘Jack’, and has been appointed leader much like Jack was to the losties.
I agree that they are infected with the same thing. And that thing is “stir craziness”, nothing else. I think Claire would possibly have been infected except back in season 2, her and Aaron apparently take the vaccine that Desmond was taking.
Dogen may believe she is infected, but I say she isn’t.
