“Adam & Eve” are Jin & Sun plus more crazy ideas

Written 18th February

Here is a theory I have been knocking around with my boyfriend. Please bare with me here! Remember the Adam & Eve skeletons the Losties found in that cave in season 1? Jack examined the skeletons and said they were male and female. (I also remember Jack saying the female had given birth, but I could not find that anywhere online and can’t watch the episode at the moment. If someone could clear this up that would be awesome. If I am right then by this point in the present storyline Sun has indeed given birth to their daughter.) They had a bag containing one white and one black stone. Jack took these, hid them from Locke, and we never saw them again. Sun trying to find Jin has been a storyline in the background for several seasons now. Flying under the radar if you will. I think they will finally meet again, but sacrifice themselves for some unforseen purpose. They will die together in the caves somehow in the past to be found by the Losties in the future. I think that Jack will become the protector of the island. Now, the fact that Jack awoke after the plane crash in the jungle dry and relatively unhurt makes me wonder if he is not an Other as some have wondered, but has lived it all before. He is stuck in a loop and he has slowly realized it throughout the show, which is why he seemingly inexplicably swipes those stones and never tells anyone about them. Somehow and some way he knows to keep the stones from Locke.

Crazy, I know. But I really believe the Adam & Eve skeletons are Sun & Jin, which would be a surprising twist, and that we have not seen the end of time travel in the show. Thoughts?

  1. Perhaps Jin and Sun will even choose different sides in the war? Jin has been captured by Claire. Perhaps he’ll end up with Flocke? Perhaps that could somehow explain why they have the stones.

  2. Oh and I’d say : maybe Jack, wanting to protect the island, will himself decide to put the stones on the bodies of Sun and Jin, or simply hand the stones to them while they are alive, knowing that he’s (another copy of him) eventually going to recover them after the crash.

  3. It is my opinion that there won’t be any more time travel in the show, at least back in time. The writers seem to like to tell the story in one way and then do something new and then something new, etc. etc. For instance, S1-S3- flashbacks
    S4 -Flashforwards
    S5 -Time Travel
    S6(thus far) -FlashSideways.

If this is the case (and I believe it is) I don’t think that anyone we presently know will be Adam and Eve. In fact, I think (bear with me now) that Adam and Eve are Jacob and MIB’s parents. I believe they’re brothers and something that Jacob did as a child resulted in their death and this is why MIB hates Jacob so much. I believe the boy that MIB is seeing is Jacob as a child (hands covered in blood…eh?). I believe that the black and white stones have more significance to the brothers than we know. Adam and Eve had black and white stones. MIB had black and white stones in the cave and tossed the white stone out stating, “Inside Joke.”

All of this is a bit of a stretch possibly. But that’s who I think Adam and Eve are.

As for your Jack statements, I think that Jack is the candidate that will take Jacob’s place as the island’s protector. I’ve thought this since we first learned about Jacob’s power on the island back in season 3. Although I wasn’t sure how it was going to all play out.

  4. i gotta go with benhamines concept on this, i dont think adam and eve are sun and jin, its to predictable. and what would they do jsut abandon there daughter? naw i dont think so. i dont ever remember jack saying that the female skeleton gave birth? i dident see him pull down here pants (rags) and examine her pelvis. we just gotta see how it all plays out.

  5. I don’t know if they will become Adam and Eve, but I think Jin and Sun are extremely important to the plot, which will be revealed at the very end. Don’t forget, if you rearrange Benjamin Linus it spells I blame Jin n Sun 😮

  6. Good post. It is important to remember significant aspects like the skeletons: there are too many skeletons in the closet at the moment, ahem pun intended. Maybe jin and Sun together can merge the time lines. They seem to be lost from each, each on a different parallel time line? All of you on this site are suggesting the timelines will merge. Maybe that is one way of doing this.

And good spots about Jack, it is strange how he wakes up all alone on the island all the time and seems to have a deeper role.

  7. Adam/Eve are Bernard/Rose – they are now living in paradise.

Sun/Jin – Jacob’s blessing: “Your love is a very special thing. Never take it for granted.”

They are apart in time. Their love will bring all the losties together.

    That’s why she’s separated.
That’s why Locke doesn’t know which is the candidate. (It’s neither. They have a different purpose. Dying to know what their child’s purpose is, perhaps to bring them back ‘home’ to Korea.)

  8. Benhamine, I like your theory on Adam and Eve being Jacob’s and MIB’s parents. That would explain (1) the fact that they are male and female, and (2) the black and white stones. All the theories that the skeletons are Jack/Kate, Sun/Jin, don’t sit well with me. For one thing, they present a paradox–how can their skeletons be on the island and be discovered by their 2004 selves? How could that be resolved? And for another, I just don’t see any Losties being on the black, or dark side. All these characters need to come together in the end, I feel that they will all be redeemed and be on the white side. And yes, yes, yes, to Jack becoming the island’s protector/leader. It’s so obvious from the beginning that he’s the lead character.

  9. About the Adam and Eve thing, it wouldn’t be anyone we know yet. Nobody we know would carry black and white stones to the grave with them.

I don’t think MIB and Jacob are brothers though. Sure it’s a possibility like anything else, but there’s no evidence of that. MIB is trapped from a LONG time ago, that much is clear. Jacob could very well be just “another” protector of the island. I’m guessing Jacob was a candidate at one point for HIS predecessor too.

  10. jack already said that the skeletons were 30-40 years old ( i mean they have BEEN there 30-40 years)which means that they couldn’t be MIB and Jacob’s parents (if in fact they are brothers) because MIB and J have been there even longer… although being ageless might help matters.

  11. Yeah…not going to lie…I was a little high when I was making that response. I’m not sure if it’s their parents or not, but I do think it’s someone important to them that we haven’t met yet.

  12. I have never really thought about Sun and Jin as major players, but after reading all of your thoughts, I wonder. Sun IS the only woman in 30-40 years to conceive on the island and have a successful birth (even if it was off the island). Maybe that is significant…
