if the smoke monster could only take the form of a dead person’s body on the island, wouldn’t it make sense that he took christian’s body? he used christian to get to locke, b/c he knew locke would be a better “host”. he obviously used christian to get to claire as well. probably to get to jack.
Nope the spanish girl jacob brought to the island knows that MIB can’t change his face once he claims a body. That is why they bothered bringing locke all the way to the towerett.
Claire said that she spoke with two people, her father (Christian) and her friend (MIB).
I TOTALLY AGREE! This makes perfect sense that he took the body of Christian since his body was never found in the casket & he always showed up to ppl at will or at a climatic moment on the island. BUT it wouldnt make sense for him to actually “take” Christians body since he didn’t take Locke’s body, just his image, maybe their are another set of rules? Yes since the survivors came BACK of course he’s stuck as John Locke, but when they originally crashed he could assume the body of anyone he wanted that was dead.
And what Claire actually said was, her father AND Flocke told her that The Others had Aaron, so that has to mean something as far as there has to be a connection between Christian and MIB/Smoke Monster
But if he had taken Christian’s body why don’t we see a double like we do with Locke? Christians body poofed in mid air (if it ever arrived on the island), Locke is still there.
i agree with Lostinthought on this one, i think its pretty clear after what Illana said (and she seems to know quite a bit) that he has only been mimicing Locke. the only thing that doesnt add up so far is when Alex appeared to Ben. Another reason as to why i think that He is not Using Christians body also is that he appeared on the Freighter to Michael before he died telling him he could ‘go now’
What Ilana said was that he (smokie) is stuck this way (as Locke). We would be foolish to assume, given the way the show has been written thus far, that there is some “rule” that smokie can only ever inhabit one body. We should only assume what we have been told, which is he can not change take the form of another human….now…
Wasn’t Locke’s body returned to the island with Christian’s shoes? perhaps that’s how he changes form…
