MIB and Richard

“All the best cowboys have daddy issues”
One theory that won’t escape my mind is the possibility that MIB is Richard’s father. The scene where Flocke cut Richard out of the tree and they had a back and forth seemed a lot like a conversation between a father and son that we have seen so many times on Lost. Daddy issues has been a major theme since season one and i can just picture Flocke ending a sentence to Richard with “son” and have a Lost WTF moment. I know Flocke said it was good to see Richard out of the chains, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that Richard was on the Black Rock, he could have been speaking metaphorically.
Anyway I just wanted to gauge people’s responses to this theory.

As crazy as it would be, we need to find out if MIB was ever human first of all. I don’t think he was.
I think we’re all gonna get a real explosion of weirdness in the face when they start describing what or who MIB, Richard, and Jacob are.
They’re all aliens. The spaceship should land in the next episode or two. That’s who is coming to the island. The mothership.
Theres no doubt in my mind all of our imaginations will be streched by the end of the final season.
Oooh and as for this theory.. i agree to a certain extent:-
I do think MIB and richard are related, just not so sure about father/son? i have no reasons why i just havent had time to think about it 🙂
And, i dont think Richard came on the Black Rock.. I think MIB chained him up.. which was why Richard seemed so scared of him.
Good theory 🙂
Maybe Jacob and MIB are a divorced couple.
Yeah and now they are going through the long and exausting battle over splitting up their possesions (you can keep hydra island, kates imaginary horse and the polar bears but I’m keeping lockes body and I definatly want those vintage vases back out of the temple even if I have to posess lockes body myself to go in and get them)
Is that why Richard was all freaked out when he realized MIB had made a ‘switch’?
ImaDharmass,
(wait, no I’m not)…I like your thinking. I too believe a spaceship like the island needs a mothership for supplies. I assume Widmore will be the pilot. When he arrives to the island, he will refer to himself as “Widmork from Ork”. Jack and Hurley, knowing that he’s just joking, will laugh along with him.
I have yet to figure the rest of the show out, so I’ll leave it at that for now.
Never thought of this!!! Good thinking! They do look alike!!
I believe that Richard is from the black rock and we’ll hear him talk about it in the next episode.
