Wow

To all:

I hope this shows up under the debate section, for that is the box I am clicking on when I am finished typing this. If it somehow accidentally shows up in the “theories” section, I’ll punch myself in the kidney and throw myself in timeout. Also, this post is coming from my brain. There is not a singular outside source being used in the sentence structures, word formations, or thoughts behind the ideas of this post. That being said, I don’t feel I need anyone’s permission to proceed.

Since when do people feel the need to go SO FAR out of their way to make someone else’s day a little worse? Sure, I tell people they’re wrong all the time, sometimes just for fun. Sometimes, I’ll purposely argue with someone just because of their ridiculous attitude towards someone else on another post. There’s a line I don’t cross though. Making fun of someone’s intelligence is just going to get you in trouble. Believe it or not, it’s possible to make someone feel completely worthless by just using a few words. If that’s something you enjoy doing, I’ll remember your name, and everyone else will too. If you want to lose all your credibility, be my guest.

I know damn well I’m just adding to all the drama, I’ve had too much coffee this morning to really care. My heart feels like it’s going to explode, so I wanted to get some things off my chest in case I’m not around tomorrow 🙂

So......I guess LOST was a good show.....WAS a good show.

  1. I know I’ve participated in a few of the discussions (maybe all of them?) that you’re referring to. I hope I didn’t make anyone feel dumb.

There’s a lot of tension in the Lost community these days. I can only blame the dark influence of the Man in Black.

  2. Oh I KNOW I’ve made a few people feel dumb, not in an over the top fashion though. Sometimes it’s impossible not to. I’m just realizing that it’s not a good idea to do that if you want anyone to read your things later. Everyone pays attention.

  3. On one hand it’s kind of fun. I enjoy watching society disintegrate into warring factions, going back and forth with “you’re dumb”, “no, you’re dumb”… Attitudes start coming out, people get upset over little things…

But on the other hand I enjoy this site and I like posting here, reading posts and debating general theories with people. Good times. I’d not like to see it all fall apart.

It’d be nice to think that you could go onto a site like this and have heated debates with people and then meet them face to face and be just cool and casual but I don’t think everyone on here could handle it. Some of them take stuff too seriously.

  4. Ive participated in the past, but realize it’s not worth getting upset over what people I don’t even know think about some shit I write on a site about a ficticious tv show. I know I write some pretty stupid stuff now and again, too. I like this site and hope it continues at least ’til LOST ends.

If I want the abuse that’s been handed out here recently I’ll call my ex wife!

  5. Agreed. You do write some pretty stupid stuff Roland. And your ex wife IS pretty abusing, I’d go that route too.

See? That would be crossing the line. For the record, I don’t recall anything you’ve written, and I for sure have no idea who you or your ex wife is. Thanks for being the guinea pig in this scenario. You’re a gentleman and a scholar.

  6. Why you little………….. LOL. I’ve read two or three posts on here today that really did make me laugh out loud. “Can we all just get along?” Prevous quote by Rodney King

  7. i mean were all really into Lost, or else we wouldnt be on a theory web site for the show as regular contributors. when you deal with something you care about, feelings get bruised.

ive gotten into some heated discussions here (esp the whatever happened happend vs the change viewpoints, remember those, oh nostalgia). and it turned out…both sides were right. but i’m here to discuss, joke around, and just waste some time in an enjoyable way at work.

chief, im with you all the way, and i guess the more sensitive of us will be hurt, but understand we mean no harm. sometimes its enjoyable letting yourself get lost sometimes. god, how many corny lost worded jokes can there be? and ive been trying to kick the corny joke habit. ah well…

  8. The days of the Whatever Happened, Happened vs. Things Change debate are sorely missed… That was a lot of fun! It was heated and all but it was just a debate… Some of us were on one side and some were on the other but both sides were at least arguing something about Lost… but now it’s procedural issues about the site itself or someone saying someone else is stupid. I had some pretty exciting exchanges with AES and Dabs during the WHH vs. Change days but it never got personal… and even though it turns out I was right (the change happened in a separate timeline) I haven’t thrown that in their faces or anything… I just smile when I think about how they must know that they were wrong that whole time and we were right.

You see, they were wrong. We were right. It’s nothing personal. It’s just a TV show… a TV show that we were right about. Not wrong, no… they were wrong.

  9. hahaha highbrow. i wonder how much pleasure you get from saying that… but yeah im happier that the show went the way it did because i thought it would be more interesting rather than being right. but…yeah being right does feel good. and in the real world, theres much more leeway and less chances to be right. so eat it up

  10. But what if the other sideways time blends into the 2007 time? With its’ changes would you still be right?
I was always an advocate for WHH, too.

  11. Highbrow, you don’t know how much you made me smile when I read your comments about our famous debates on the site over time travel. LOL

They were intense at times, but were handled with appreciation and respect for the debate and in good spirit. We had so much fun. At the end of the day, I was always laughing, no matter how much steam was pouring out of my nostrils. LOL

PS: some days I was looking forward to when you left work for the day, more than you were! LOL You gave us all a good ‘run’ for our money.

Thanks for reminding me of that….
