Flash sideways=deal with the devil

So, here’s what I’m thinking.  The flash sideways’ are the lives that the smoke monster is promising the survivors if they leave the island with him (maybe by committing suicide?).  It seems very “deal with the devil” ish.  Locke can have the one thing he wants (good relationship with his father) but he has to stay in a wheel chair, Sayid gets to have the one thing he wants (Nadia is alive) but he can’t be with her.  Not sure how the rest tie in but it’s something to think about.  Bottom line is, the island is gone and everyone gets to almost have the lives that they want.  I think it will come down to a choice to sink the island and live an almost fantasy life OR stay and protect the island in which case these flash sideways’ don’t actually happen…maybe…
