because everyone needs at least one timelines theory, so here’s mine

k so here’s my take on the times lines, it’s not fully developed and i would love everyone’s comments and ideas to bring it all together (as much as we can)….

so it’s pretty obvious what the “sideways” time line isn’t a sideways parallel universe. basically whatever type of person they choose to be in the “sideways” determines what side they end up on on the island, ex: sayid chose to kill someone he is on the evil side, ben choose alex over his own power so he ended up on the good side on the island (before you all jump on me for stealing ideas or whatnot, yes i know highbrow already said this, i was originally going to post this as a comment on the theory he posted his comment on but then i got distracted and couldnt remember which thread i saw his comment in, but i am not stealing this idea from him, it is entirely possible for two people to have the same idea independently) so anyway, this is not something complicated and hidden i’m sure a lot of people got this idea by watching the last episode.

so now this brings me to season one “flashbacks” timeline. i’m not a 100% sure on this one, here is a thought thou. when dojin was talking about sayid after testing him, he kept saying that sayid has turned evil, yet he had ran the same tests on claire before but when he talked about her he never said she was evil he said “she’s just a confused little girl.” you would think that if he tested both of them and found they were both on the MIB side that he would think they were both evil right? but noperz claire is just “confused” . so this brings me to 2004, when we see sayid in his flashbacks he is obviously an “evil” person, he is a torturer, he kills people and feels no remorse (pre nadia and all that). when we first see clair in the flashbacks she is clearly a confused teenager going thought her goth phase, rebelling against her mom, you know typical confused little girl (pre the accident and pregnancy and such). So, did dojin’s tests really show who these people are/were in the season one timeline? like who they were before some major event in their lives changed them (like nadia, the pregnancy so stuff).

with all that being said, i have no F-in clue how time works on this show, if there is even any concept of time in a linear sort of way that we are used to. what i can say pretty confidently thou, is that the show has been very heavily based on the idea of free will vs fate. and my take on the two off island realities is: one is what would happen to them if they had free will and the other is what would happen if their fates were predetermined (and by them i mean human kind in general not just those six losties). i think that season 1 flashbacks is what would have happened to them if they had free will, and that’s why dojin was testing them to see who they would turn out if they would make their own choices without any influence. the sideways timeline we are seeing is more of a predetermined fate storyline i think, no sure why yet. or it could be vise versa, i dont know any thoughts??

now i do realize that my idea completely ignores that whole numbers, them being chosen ones,everything that happened in the other seasons with all the dharma and 70s, and even them being on the island all that hoopla. and i def think all that is important and so my theory above cant be the whole story, but too much crap has happened for if all to be one story!!!!! gahhhhhhhhh it makes my brain hurt….

also, to whoever said that MIB was #1 on the list, like the first candidate ever. i dont remember who you are, but i think you are freaking brilliant! that is a really great call!
