who the F is Cindy?
what is Cindy the flight attendant’s deal? why is she still around and just chillin with the others? she is the only one from the tail section that’s still around, well and the children she’s with (and bernard but he doesnt really count as a “taily”).
i am thinking that she was one of the others to begin with, she knew exactly where the plane was going, that it was going to crash on the island and that is why she was on it to go back “home” to the island. as most of the names in the show seem to be from the bible, does anyone know if there is someone in the bible named Cindy/Cynthia or some variation of the name that is good with children maybe?
i did a search on the site and most of the posts about her were from before season 6 started. one of them said that maybe her attitude towards the others was “adjusted using room #23” (you know the room where they stuck alex’s boyfriend to brainwash him). so i guess they couldve kidnapped and brainwashed her, but why her out of all people?
also does anyone know her last name and whether or not it’s on the list?
i know she’s probably not all that important but then again she might be since she’s been around for so long. she just keeps randomly appearing. like remember when the others had kidnapped jack, sawyer and kate and kept them in cages (hottest cage sex scene ever by the way!) and they had them working and all of  sudden cindy appears with the kids! she is always around and always with kids!
I remember when she visited the cages with the kids, If I remember correctly, when she stood there there seemed to be brightness behind them as if they had come from somewhere! they were all clean etc…yet in season 6 there like in rags and living in the temple like ancient type people!
It always struck me as odd that the others so quietly came and kidnapped her while they were moving.. Because with the amount we know about the others, they arent THAT alert and stealthy.. and i always had the feeling she just walked away from the group
In the scene where she disappears, you can hear the sound of smokie soon afterwards. As if she was Smokie herself. It’s made me wonder about her from that moment on.
She HAS to have some importance to her, as she has had a VERY unimportant role to this point. So why is she still around? That’s an excellent question.
When she showed up in the Temple I literally threw up my hands and I said “seriously? CINDY?!”
I really enjoy this whole idea that Cindy is an Other getting back on the Island, that she quietly walked away from the group. She seemed also to be so much more readily accepted by the group after her kidnapping (although yeah, we could speculate she was brainwashed in the same room as Alex’s bf, but I’ll leave that for now).
Another idea is maybe Cindy made a “deal” of sorts and has been spying in the Temple? This might go along with Chief recalling teh Smokie noises around her. When you have kids with you, I guess no one would suspect you…
OR maybe her last name is Wallace?! (I’m kidding about that one. If that’s true I might cry.)
Okay, on Lostpedia they list her as Cindy Chandler… I’m kind of relieved. Haha. But this last name is attributed to an off-show novel associated with the show, and as I don’t pay attention that much to stuff that happens during hiatus (like games), I still doubt they would assign her a last name willy-nilly.
Wasn’t Cindy a stewardess on 815 involved with the writer who wrote Bad Twin? i really don’t think she has much importance other than the writers tying up a loose end.People have been asking where are Cindy and the kids for a couple of years now.
ALSO: i remembered this after i posted, do you guys remember Goodwin’s list? Cindy was on that, who else was on there?
First of all, I seriously doubt that Cindy used the Oceanic flight to get home. The Others didn’t seem aware what was going on when the plane crashed on the Island. If Jacob was behind the crash, I don’t think he told the Others about it.
Second, it is not surprising that Cindy is in the Temple. When the Freighter people arrived, Ben told Alex, Carl and Rousseau to go to the Temple because “it might be the only safe place on the Island” or something like that. We know that they didn’t make it to the Temple, but Ben also said that most of the Others had already gone to the Temple. Apparently you are supposed to dress down (or dress oldish) when you are inside the Temple.
Other than that, I have no answers regarding Cindy. Perhaps the Others thought that the kids needed a familiar face. I hope we’ll find out.
obsessed: I want to like your idea a lot. Hehe. I’d have to rewatch those eps (which I won’t), but it’s still somewhat plausible she worked in tandem with Goodwin somehow…

Notably, neither Cindy nor Eli, Jim, Emma, Zach or Nancy are identified as likely (former) candidates on the Lostpedia page on Candidates. Goodwin seems to possibly have been a candidate, though.
why the heck was goodwin making a list in the first place? i do find it kinda curious that the people on his list were all from the tail section, any significance there? i donnoooooo maybe? and i do think it’s weird that they dress all “oldish” in the temple but dressed normal on the outside
I guess the really weird thing is that some of the Others chose to live comfortably in Dharmaville. Very not Jacob-ish. Hm, didn’t Locke point that out at some point?
obsessed: Goodwin was told by Ben to make a list the same way Ethan was making a list to kidnap people. Also, Goodwin supposedly stuck around to make a case for Ana Lucia… this is all blurry in my mind since it was a while back, but that’s what I remember.
I’m still wondering how all these lists/manifests all correspond to the ankh/lighthouse wheel/cave lists.
Ilie: Yeah, (real) Locke pointed that out to Ben, since Locke was so in tune with the Island… hmm, totally forgot about that!
If the Others use the Dharma facilities…that means the room with the brainwashing video where Carl was is part of a Dharma station. Why would the Dharma station have a brainwashing station in the first place? And why/when did they FIRST come to the island..? The Dharma/Other lines are really getting blurred to me.
Also, couldn’t Cindy be in the show just to keep it consistent? I mean, the others cant be THE ONLY survivors on the island…there were like 40 to start out with.
