Jacob’s Involvement with the Candidates

Written 24th March

We saw Jacob tell Ricardo that he brings the candidates to the island and then hopes for them to do the right thing–he does not help or get involved with them. Why is it that sometime in the mid-1900’s, Jacob has chosen to have direct contact with the candidates? Is it because they are the last six? Is he just desperate, do you think? Does anyone else think there might be a problem with his plan because he got involved with them–that they really needed to “do the right thing” of their own accord to prove his point?
