The Black Rock, Error or more important

I wrote this a few weeks ago however it did not go into the theories catogory that I wanted it to,anyway here it is.
After watching ”Ab Aeterno” I noticed that The Black Rock crashed onto the island in the middle of a storm,also at night. However, in the season 5 finale,the Black Rock is seen to be approaching the island in the middle of the day and on very calm seas. How could the producers make such an error?
This was either a huge mistake or was left in as it is majorly relavent. Maybe the ship we saw in the season 5 finale was not the black rock at all, Jacob does mention that he had brought others to the island before. However that would just lead to more questions and we are running out of time for answers.
Also, I am sure a number of others also picked up on the fact tht Richard’s flashback takes place in 1867, however the Black rock supposedly set sail in 1845, with its ledger discovered in 1852.
Suggestions, problems all welcome thanks.
well, the date is a contunity error that they tried to fix because dynamite wasnt patented until 1867
as for the ship in the incident, it was absolutely The Black Rock. As for the storm and it being in the middle of the night, well, we all know that when coming/going to the islannd there are some time discrapencies (it has happened a few other times as well, think about the doctor washing up on shore before he was killed) and I think that the writers were just trying to illustrate that point, in my opinion.
I doubt that was an error, but I have no explanation for it… maybe the ship was still really far off during the beach convo, possibly still days away. Or even a couple of hours away would allow time for a storm to move in.
Well, I have some kind of explanation, but it seems like a strange fact, as it would make much more sense to make it get to the island during day, just for continuity.
Maybe the ship was near the island during day. The slaves of the Black Rock simply were sleeping then or didn’t look outside. The captain had no interest in going to an island as they had America as their destination.
During night Jacob created the tsunami and brought the Black Rock to the island with all the consequences we already know.
What is stranger for me is the fact that both MIB and Jacob have different beards and hair dresses. It indicates that it is a different time. Maybe it has been some weeks for them in the island and just a few hours in Black Rock. It is not completely clear.
