Why/how did Eloise initially leave the island?

I may be spacing out a bit, but have we ever learned why/how Eloise ended up off island? We know that Charles was banished for philandering off-island (by the way, how did that all happen?! He was banished by Ben for off-island behavior, but how exactly was he getting off island to have bad behavior in the first place?). But as for Eloise? She got clunked on the head right before Jack dropped the nuke in the hole, but then what happened to her? Do we know?
I dont think so. I believe Widmore could go back and forth off-island via the submarine the Dharma Initiative had… Eloise’s story has never been clarified! Probably soon though!
Agreed Mon. It would be awful disappointing to have her so prominent and omniscient in the last episode then give us on “how” or “why”. (Of course, not next wk. That’s prob. the Sun update then. They seem to dangle cliffhangers at least 2 wks and sticking a seemingly unrelated one in between.)
I always just assumed after she killed her son, she read in his journal about his theories and saw how smart he was. But she knows that she cant avoid when she just did so she leaves the island to make sure he grows up and gets super smart so he can do exactly what it was that got him in that crappy in the first place.
She was ushered off the island before jughead exploded, though this has never been officially stated on the show. It has come up on the official Lost podcast with Lindelof & Cuse though.
As we know from Ethan, Alpert, & Mr. Friendly, the Others could leave the Island whenever necessary.
