The 06 had to lie
I still do not understand why the Oceanic 06 had to lie about what happened to them. I know it was explained somewhat in the show, but I still am confused somewhat about it. I would like someone(s) who are fans of the show to help me understand why they had to lie. Something to do with the “dummy plane” on the bottom of the ocean, or to protect the people on the island? Thanks.
well i dont understand either why is no one asking about the ‘dummy plane’
6 people just turned up and said they were on that flight but everyone was seen dead in that plane??
back to your question they only lied about where they had been, they didnt tell the public about they island. I believe this was because they didn’t want whitmores people to go back and to his the island from others.
and because everyone will think they we’re nuts.

I believe they lied to protect the rest on the island…. Knowing that someone went to so much trouble to plant a dummy plane and make everyone think they were dead they feel its best to lie until they know more. Plus who would believe them anyway.
Everyone else believes the lie of the o6 because the wreckage was planted to deep in the ocean for a full recovery of the bodies.
