Aaron is one of the original 6, correct? Hurley, Kate, Sun, Jack, Sayid, Aaron. He HAS to come back….I bet he’s on the plane, in coach!

Haha. I think he may be “represented” like how Locke and Christian are. The representation could be what I think dabs suggested, that Kate is pregnant.
I think they were very specific about the “six”….I understand the representations (Charlie, Christian), but Aaron can’t be subbed. Just a sixth sense, here, but we will see him again!
Okay…..I clearly understand the “recreation” business and that you think Kate is pregnant. However, Ben was very clear that ALL six survivors who left had to come back. I feel the same about Aaron that I do about Sayid….I don’t think we could just grab one of Sayid’s tank tops and call it good….do you know what I mean? Now I know Ben isn’t the most reliable source, but six survivors left the island….I am misunderstanding that those same six need to return?
Is the important of the O6 how they got to the island in reference to getting off of it, or is the importance that they got off of the island when it wasn’t finished with them?
No, I think the confusion lies in whether or not ALL the o6ers have to return. I seem to remember that all of them have to go back….Jack said it several times and so did Ben…otherwise, why bother with Sayid and Hurley if they aren’t willing to return? Couldn’t we just have represented them?
I like the idea that Kate is pregnant and that her unborn child is the substitute for Aaron. Maybe Aaron is down with the luggage in a pet carrier substituting for Vincent.
Okay, I found the transcript I was looking for (or at least one of them) that makes me think they ALL have to go back. This is from “There’s No Place Like Home”:
JACK: Why are you here?
BEN: I’m here to tell you that the island won’t let you come alone. All of you have to go back.
JACK: (Scoffs) Are you… (sighs) Sayid–I don’t even know where Sayid is. Hurley… (scoffs) is insane. Sun blames me for… and then Kate… (chuckles, sighs) She won’t even talk to me anymore.
BEN: Perhaps I can help you with that. This is the way it has to be, Jack. It’s the only way. You have to do it together, all of you.
JACK: How?
BEN: I have a few ideas.
[Jack sighs deeply and turns to leave.]
BEN: Jack… I said, all of you. We’re gonna have to bring him, too.
There is also the possibility that it is really the O5.
The media dubbed them the Oceanic 6, not the island.
I think Aaron is important (hence the whole “danger surrounds this baby, only you can raise him” stuff said by the psychic) but maybe he doesn’t have to go back.
After all, didn’t we find out the boy the Others were after was actually Walt, not Aaron, like Roussea thought?

No.
I think Kate will have put Aaron in a safe place after trusting Sun with him and finding him where he should not be.

Hi kittycarson, Aaron was not born at the time of flight #815.
He was still in Claire’s womb, so technically only that aspect would need to be recreated.
I think I covered that in my post, suggesting Kate is now carrying a ‘bun’ in the oven by Jack.

kittycarson, this is my understanding of what Ms. Hawkings says about #316.
She says, as many things must be recreated as closely as possible to what the original flight of #815 had.
Aaron was NOT born, yet. Therefore, not technically on board. Unless you count in utero.
Even though Aaron left ‘the island’, it’s about who was on board the original flight of #815, and those circumstances that need to be recreated.
I think that is where the confusion lies.
Hope this is helpful.

Then it stands to reason that they could have substitute a panda bear for Hurley….
