MS. HAWKING: 70 hours is what you’ve got.
BEN: Look, I lost Reyes tonight. What happens if I can’t get them all to come back?
MS. HAWKING: Then God help us all.
Wow ! All I can say is Wow ! That is really good ! ! I have to watch that again! Great observation ! I think you are right.
Ms. (Mrs.?) Hawking comes UP through a trap door from a cave-like basement into a church. The computer she is using struck me on first viewing as a little out-dated, like the ones seen in the various Dharma facilities.
Would love to see Hawking and Widmore go toe to toe. She seems formidable enough to stand up to him. Lord knows poor Sun wilted under his gaze.

I have just completed writing a theory, (which I will post) posing this very issue of how they are returned to ‘the island’.
I caught Ms. Hawking being in the underground of a church, and wondered where she might be located. I did not, however catch Ben’s exact phrasing though. Great catch.
I don’t know about the LA to Oxford route, but it doesn’t change the fact, that I believe you have uncovered one of the ‘great’ mysteries of Lost!

I think this theory hinges too much on the phrasing of “come” rather than “go”. And if Ben is off the Island, stating that he wants to get them all to “come back” works perfectly fine. We understand his meaning.
I don’t think it’s The Temple. I think it’s a church.
If it were that easy to get back to the Island, why would Ben need the O6!? And why is he allowed back there!?
This doesn’t work for me at all.
I like this idea very much! We haven’t seen The Temple yet so it could be a possibility.
Perhaps, they’re not in The Temple that’s on the island, but there’s something in there that can transport them to The Temple on the island? Maybe they can only transport there when all the O6 and Ben are together?
AC – Starting with the phrase…I can’t beleive you go through script writing, script editing, pre production, production, post production without it looking a little odd with Ben saying COME BACK. It makes more sense if he says GO BACK. I am not saying he is ON THE ISLAND, i think being in the station and therefore feels he’s ‘within the island’ of somesorts.
I think there is a temple on island and off island, and it serves as a gateway…
Again, the island is not stable right now, so, if in the next 70 hours they don’t get the 06 back, Hawking cannot assume her ‘event’ window is correct, and that island may be too far gone to ever reconnect…which puts in play a lot of paradoxes for a lot of people…hence the “then god help us all”. Thats my thought anyway.
I think Ben would say “go back” if he was not going back and “come back” as in come back with me.
achara – Grammatically it works either way. Personally I feel the Temple is more of a shelter from the crazy time-shifting going on on the island.
Whether or not Ms. Hawking’s compound under the church is a gateway or not, I found it interesting that there are what appear to be Dharma binders on her desk. The spines of the binders are never shown close up, but from a distance definitely appear to have Dharma logos on them.
good eye crimes, i am still trying to figure out the signifigance. Dharma is widmore, widmore is bens enemy, dharma raised ben, ben killed dharma, dharma needs help, hawking is dharma, hawking helps ben, dharma helps ben..widmore helps ben? My brain feels like it just crashed in a plane.
It is going to be interesting to see how it all works out! The only thing that I can think is that at the moment it doesn’t really matter who is on whose side; fixing the state that the island is in is more important than sides and allegiances.
Why it took 3 years, minus 70 hours, for everything that is occurring now to come up will also be interesting.

Guessing they have something to do with Faradays on island, scientific, how to get back, calculations, from the past, which in turn, will help them find the island. We are working almost backwards right now
