Ok – I’ve been a fan of LOST since the beginning, and I love a good mystery.

tygerstrypes, thanks for posing such a fascinating and pertinent question!
I think you’re on the right track! I would not discount there being a larger picture, in terms of presenting a statement on human nature and conditioning. I think it extends even further than that.
I think the ‘who are we’ is extremely important, and I will add to that, by posing the question, ‘why are we’?
Perhaps, finding the answers to those burning questions, will answer some of the mysteries on Lost.
Dabs, thanks for representing my “why” train of thought! Exactly the questions I have been posing…
I would agree that if we concentrate on the ‘how’ and ‘what’ – such as how is the island traveling in time/location; how do the “windows” work; how did Jin really make it back to the island…
You get the point, and these are questions simply from the last few episodes, let alone the entire series! There are plenty of how and what questions (and ensuing theories.)
If we focus on these things, we are looking at interesting occurrences and important aspects of the show, but overall, not the main point.

kimberly, the ‘why’ is probably the most important mystery of all. Glad, I could represent.
Thomas5 has raised some very interesting points in his posts, which have raised new and old questions in my mind.
His posts, have sparked some very interesting discussions.
I thought Charlie said “What is this place?” but then again it could be doubled for “Where are we?”
Great thoughts.
