Funeral for a friend…SIGH…POSSIBLE SPOILER IN A COMMENT…

It is my sad decree, to theorize about this. I dont write it with joy, or pleasure…simply logic and speculation.
It is to my knowledge, that we have not seen an important character kick the bucket in a while. No, I do not see Charolette as important enough to have an episode dedicated to her or a whole storyline revolve around her. I am refering to a loveable Lostie, someone we have watched through the years, since the beginning. The person I refer to, has at this point lost everything. Love, several times, faith, freedom, sense, and from the looks of the preview after last weeks episode, his sanity/composure.
This person, is Sayid. I dont want it, but as much as I didnt care through several seasons, I didnt want it to happen to Charlie either. But it did. We see a progressive, non linear storyline for these characters. We see love, hate, torture (in several ways), anger, frustration. We see guilt. We see redemption, for better or worse.
I fear we have seen the end to Sayids story. No one that cares, no family, no true friends. No romance or love. No future really.
It is at that juncture, that I make my prediction that tears will roll for Sayid soon. We may see our warrior take a final brave stab at saving himself and the other Losties from fate himself, Benjamin Linus.
But I feel at any age, Ben always has a plan.
And very soon, Sayid will not be a part of Bens plan. Im not going to lie, I just dont know what else they can give him. He is a monster in a fight or battle, and I am aware of the war approaching. Maybe he makes it there, maybe not. But I predict he will be the next Lostie to fall.

Abbot Enheduanna Schwarzschild Name meaning: -Abbot: Father defined by or in religious connotation/definition. From the beginning, Lost was riddled with religious tone and it was obvious it would play some sort of role. Seemed fitting to start here. -Enheduanna: Mesopotamian High Priestess and the modern civilization’s first recorded poet. I created the name after season 1. John explaining backgammon history to Walt spawned the idea that the island may have a link yo the beginning of civilization and maybe even time itself. It was “poetic” and important to add this to my pseudonym. I needed the mother of poetry in modern civilization to match the religious “Father” in my first name. -Schwarzschild: Reference to Karl Schwarzschild and Schwarzschild Black Holes. Smoke monsters, hatches, and curing paralysis doesn’t point to black holes…but the sci-fi elements ran deep and obvious. The wheel moving the island and transporting Ben felt like it got plucked from my imagination. A.E.S.

  1. AES, I certainly hope you are wrong about Sayid, but it is hard to see what future he will have in the grand scheme of things, as the story continues to evolve.

I am afraid, he has just about run his course, and his usefulness. Unless, for some reason, his story line evolves, and they inject some new meaning and purpose for him.

I would hate to see him killed off!

  2. The only evolution I can see with him, would be in giving Ben info..young Ben.
I know the ‘war’ spoken of is coming, but I finf it hard to believe he will see season 6…at least from a perspective not involving a resurection of sorts…I thought this before last episode, and just hoped they’d never find him again..lol.
He is one of the most intense characters ever.
I watched the episode last night where he tells Sun and Jin he is going to allow the others to discover them, and kill all but 2.
When Sun questions why 2, he relies something to the likes of using them agains each other ala torture. Making one watch while he tortures the other for info…intense, that is the perfect word

  3. I would definitely agree with you on both points.

I think the information young Ben gets from Sayid, (this time around), is what will serve older Ben. Young Ben is already prepared for Sayid.

Sayid is soooo intense, and I could see him doing some damage to ‘the others’ or even Dharma, before he finally checks out!

The best way for Sayid’s demise would be for the writers to allow him to go out, in a blaze of glory! Now, that would be great television!

  4. You know, admin just posted a theory on this. I just commended Emzi and everyone for running a tight ship and being respectful to others, and I cant even get an ANSWER, to whether it is spoiler or speculation…

  5. Henry, I apologize for the reaction…there has been a lot of spoilerish info on the site compared to usual here, and Ive been watching my steps…I hate spoilers more than anything, and the way you presented the comment was, almost identical to a pevious one I saw here earlier

  6. I have to leave this up (SPOILER), just in case, but I’ll take your word on this…at least until wed…
If you know this is a spoiler, let me know and I’ll ask Admin to remove it from the post is all

  7. Hi AES

I had thoughts on this but it seems to obvious for Lost. I remember posting earlier this season about how sawyer lacked a decent storyline and seemed to be going no where, and bang he is in the centre now. I think the writers are leading us down the the yellow brick road to make the wrong conclusions.

Ben and Sayid have a showdown thats for sure, but who survives/wins and more importantly who controls it could be very important for the end of the season, I have a feeling sayid will be around until the next season.

  8. Sayid is a goner, I agree and I won’t miss him. He’s been pissing me off since season one. Never liked him. I think little Ben is going to kill him.

Mayhaps Ben is already in contact with the Hostiles. When he goes to see Sayid he asks him if he is a Hostile and expects a certain answer… like a code. He doesn’t get it.

    Ben: Are you a Hostile?

    Sayid: Smells like carrots.

I think that’s more like what he was looking for. Now the Hostiles will need to get rid of him before he screws things up for them.

NOTE: I did not use any spoilers in my comment. This is simply brilliant speculation on my part.

  9. Sayid must teach Ben his fighting ways. Maybe it’s ultimately Sayid who turns Ben into the monster we see today. ie, Sayid takes out Jin and little Ben is all…, “Wow, kick ass moves! – teach me” I know he didn’t say that – that’s just what I heard in my mind. 🙂
