Tracking the outrigger canoes – somebody had to do it!
It appears that we see the outrigger canoes for the first time on the beach near the camp after one of many flashes.
Sawyer&crew originally head back to the beach to get the Zodiac that Faraday came back to the island with Frogurt on, but the Zodiac is gone!
They then discover two boats (the outrigger canoes), THEY FIND AN AJIRA WATER BOTTLE INSIDE OF ONE! Sawyer&crew then decides to take the canoe so that they can travel to the orchid faster!
I am going to assume that Sawyer&crew are in a similar time as to when Ajira has crashed. The outrigger canoes were originally on The Hydra so I am going to again assume that Ilana&crew brought them over to the beach to explore the main island.
Then Sawyer&crew takes one of the boats, leaving the second behind, soon after w/o any flashes taking place, a second outrigger canoe starts to gain on them and shoot at them.
Juliet shoots back and hits some one – sweet!
Then Sawyer&crew flash away from the other attacking canoe. Sawyer says thankgod, but they are in a storm, so he takes it back!
Lets track the canoes
3 to start on The Hydra
– Sun and Lupidas take one
– Now we have 2 on the Hydra and 1 on the dock
– Locke and Ben go to take a canoe, Locke tells Cesar, we will leave one of these two behind if you want to follow us.
– Cesar is dead for being a dick, yes!
– Now we have 1 canoe on the hydra and 2 on the dock.
– Lupidas takes 1 back to the hydra
– Two boats back on the hydra and one on the dock (dock of the main island)
– Sawyer&crew stumble upon 2 boats on the beach’.2 were on the Hydra!
Ilana&crew must have taken the 2 boats from the hydra to the beach to go explore the main island.
Sawyer&crew takes one, Ilana&crew take the other one and goes after them, as for how they were able to gain on them so fast, maybe they have more paddlers!!!

thanks for the chronology on the canoes, we always knew it was someone from ajiri that shot at them, now we know without a doubt who it was. it also proves that sawyer and gang were jumping into the future as well
ya but they jumped before they they paddled out then got shot at by Llana & then Flashed to safety…all good info though
oh ya they definitely jumped to the future in order to find those canoes, they were jumping all over at that point,
that is impossible to track, we only have clues about what time they could have been in.
Statue – way back in the past, no well
The Well was filled up with rocks and crap at one point
Then The Well goes down into the FDW cavern
Then The Orchid is put up
Wait I got off topic, we were following the flashes, the well spot keeps changing so it is a good indication of what time period they are in, so does the existence of DI, and so does the canoes,,
nice, what is your take on the year when the statue was still standing? it seems like right after that jump the earth quake happens that breaks the statue (we assume).
So what happens to the canoe that Sawyer and Juliet and co. were on when they were being shot at? To (we assume) Ilana, the boat “disappears”. So would that make only 2 boats now?

That would mean that one boat full of people are going to be very unhappy on the main island with no ride back to the Hydra Island.
good point cappayne, I believe it has been confirmed that anything the losties have on their person or are in (the canoe) travels with them in the flash.
So one of the canoes has disappeared and gone somewhere. The flashes keep going until Locke goes down the well so it is hard to tell what time period that canoe was left in lol.
Definitely only 2 now in Ilana & Locke time.

But, do we know in what year Ajira arrived? (not left, but arrived) Great catch on the canoes.
The canoe that Sawyer&crew flashed with when they were being shot at has disappeared from the time when the canoes were originally found by Ben. Originally their were 3, but since the losties traveled and flashed in one of them,
they left it behind in the time when Rousseau and her people arrived. When they come on the beach in the storm Locke finds a can with something written on it and says “anyone speak french?” (it was all ship wreckage) then we see Rousseau and her peeps in a raft.
