Ellie doesn’t know the full outcome
Im guessing that Ellie doesn’t know the full outcome of events as she’s only gained her knowledge from what she’s learned from the Losties. It’s bugging me as to why she told Jack to give Locke something that belonged to his father if Locke was never to be resurrected?
Did she know that Smokie was going to take the form of Locke to get to Jacob? Or was she led to believe this had to happen for other reasons? Would she have told Jack about giving Locke something that belonged to his father had she known the consequences of sending John Locke back dead?
Id really like some feed back as im stumped here, it may be sat there staring at me and im trying to hard that i can’t see the obvious.
PLEASE HELP 🙂

John had to have something from Christian so that the SM (Evil Entity) can transfer from one body to another.
bigdaveg, Ms. Hawking didn’t anticipate that Locke would be resurrected, anymore than Ben did.
Locke was placed on #316, to replicate the original circumstances of #815. He takes the place of Christian Shephard in the coffin.
As for the smoke monster, some people are thinking that it is Jacob’s nemesis. I do not subscribe to that belief, because the Fake Locke hid from the smoke monster when it was judging Ben, and he didn’t know that the smoke monster had told Ben to follow Locke and do everything he said.
Hope that is helpful.
Unless of course, Jacob’s nemesis could have left the area so, he could come to Ben as the Smoke Monster / Alex. Much like Clark Kent would leave the room to become Superman.
I didn’t say she anticipated the resurrection of Locke (whatever it is) my question was if she had known about it would she still have told Jack to do those things? I understand that Locke was the ‘proxy’ for Christian but if she had known the events to come would she have intervened or let destiny take it’s toll i.e as Farady tried to do with the journal and Jughead.
Does this mean then that the white tennis shoe’s also belong to someone else? obviously a plane hasn’t crashed before 815
Maybe he hid as he couldn’t appear as 2 entities at the same time? Who’s to say that Smokie/Locke(?) isn’t playing dumb and obviously doesn’t want Ben to know the true identity as this would spoil the plan?
I think Ellie was as much in the dark as anyone else right after she sent them back to the island. Up ’til then she going by a script that she thought she had to follow.
bigdaveg, I am under the impression that whatever Ms. Hawking has been doing is, to hopefully bring about a different conclusion.
I say this, based on her conversation with Jack, saying that Daniel didn’t have to die. A mother who had shot her son, would want a different outcome, just based on that alone.
No doubt when she left ‘the island’, she devoted her life, to bring about a different end, but at this juncture doesn’t know how it will all play out. I suppose she was placing her faith in that it would. I doubt she had any further insight into Locke, etc., but do feel she has some awareness of what they might be up against on ‘the island’, but in a very general sense.
Widmore seemed to know that a ‘war’ was coming, so we are at a disadvantage not knowing what it is, they know.
If you are referring to the tennis shoes, Christian Sheppard was wearing in the coffin, Jack said he had placed them on him, as he was in a hurry before he boarded #815.
I think you make a good point about anyone being too presumptuous that Jacob’s nemesis is not the smoke monster.
I do not believe this to be the case. Just my take on it…..
