Just wanted to get this out there
Just so everyones on the same page about Jacob. We all did realize in the incident that when Jacob speaks to Illana he says “sorry I couldn’t get to you sooner” this would more than likely mean he is not a time traveler. He can not go to and from when and where he wants at any given time. Maybe this is why he comes to all the kids and Jack and Sayid and Hurley at different times.
Like it could explain the after and before 815 deal.
So for anyone thinking hes all powerful maybe hes not. Just ageless for some reason?
I dunno just really wanted to know if anyone felt this way as well?
If anyone has any better ideas please let me know. I love feedback even if it somehow disproves me.
Makes sense to me…
When we first started learning about Richard Alpert and the Others…he and they were mysterious men who lived outside the realm of time…duhduhduh…
But then we learned that through very unusual circumstances (a little help from John Locke to view his birth) we learned that Ricky just got off the island at the right time.
It seems some “abilities” of certain characters are more just precise usage of the islands properties, and I would also believe that this could be another case of it.
Good thought and logic to get here.
I’m against the all mighty Time Traveler idea and the all powerful idea but perhaps it does have another biblical idea to it in sorts. Jesus Christ knew he would die he had seen it and was told of it. What if specific characters Richard, MIB, Jacob and maybe others already knew what was going to happen. least in part. Maybe Jacob didn’t know he was going to die maybe he did. Seems Ricky getting off the island at the right time would have been because he foresaw something that was going to happen. Like visions maybe or perhaps they had lived this all before and what Jacob was trying to prove to the MIB wasn’t that men could change but perhaps that he could alter the way things had happened in the past. Perhaps this is Jacob and the MIB’s endless struggle to prove to each other time could or couldn’t be changed. Think about this in the past when the losties go back and try to change time time seems to not alter perhaps the big bang from the bomb was suppose to happen. But didn’t change anything from the time line. If what is written about time is true changing time would be impossible regardless of the variables what happened would still happen the losties were just part of what happened in the first place trying to alter time was what caused time to take place as it already had in the first place. Jacob on the other hand hoped that things would change based on the fact people change. Therefore our ending might be our beginning all over again. Time travel, and your explanation to Jacob. OH and why did Jacob meet up with Hurley after he had come back from the island and convince him to go back when he met everybody else before the plane crashed?
What does anyone think about the ring of ash around jacob’s hut near the end of season5?
And… when Ben takes Locke to see Jacob in an earlier season, why cant we see Jacob?
And before anyone says, “because jacob gt killed” surely christian got killed but we can still see him
Thank you for pointing out that sentence Jacob told Ilana: I didn’t consider that important but in fact it is and it proves that Jacob can’t really time travel as much as he wants or maybe he can’t time travel at all. Anyway I stand my opinion that Jacob can’t do anything to interfere with the outcome of people’s actions and choices. He can give ” a little push” but that’s all, otherwise he would have stopped Kate from stealing, Jim from writing, Locke from falling. Feel free to disagree and tell what you think!
Pennyanddes when you say he can only give a little push otherwise he would of stopped Kate stealing, sawyer writing the letter etc, well I don’t think he wanted to stop them but in fact encouraged Kate to steal and sawyer to write the note,
