The ash is…

Written 4th February

Just a short theory.  I was reading about the monster on lostpedia. and i remembered those banyan trees?
Thoes random caged like trees where the losties hid in S1 when the monster chased them.
Were those trees magical or something, because the monster easy uproots the other trees.
so theres 3 things that protect against the monster.
-Sonar Fence
-Banyan Tree
-The Ash

What if.. the ash is actually burnt banyan tree. it does make sense.

  1. Very interesting! I hadn’t noticed that before. That makes sense because there was a LOT of that ash. But what makes the banyan tree so special? hmmmmm….

  2. I decided to search up the tree on wikipediaLots of religion and mythology behind it.

decent amount of religion and mythology behind it.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banyan

“In Hinduism, the banyan tree is considered sacred and is called “Ashwath Vriksha.” It is thought of as perfectly symbolizing eternal life due to its seemingly unending expansion.”
(also one of the species of the banyan is the national tree of india… Namaste indeed.)

“In many stories of Philippine Mythology, the banyan, (locally known as balite) is said to be home to a variety of spirits and demon-like creatures.”

“In Guam, ‘Chamorro people believe in tales of taotaomona, duendes and other spirits. Taotaomona are spirits of the ancient Chamorro that act as guardians to banyan trees.”

  3. damn, RAonak, thats a very good catch and nice research.

Don’t think i’ve heard anyone mention Banyan trees.
