The first episode: Animals and humans on lost
I am watching the first episode, and my god its just fantastic having seen all that we have seen.
Several things stood out for me.
Jack appears in the jungle. Alone. Is this how he will wake up again? Seems like he is time travelling a lot aka Bruce Willis in 12 monkeys.
The dog Vincent comes up to him through the jungle. I believe smokie was already controlling Vincent here, just like he controls polar bears or any other living organic being (including humans).
When we first hear the monster rumbling in the jungle, who are the first two people the camera turns to? Locke and Walt. Knowing know what we do about Locke, its a big clue that the writers have always know key events in the series (locke being controlled by Smokie). A lot of the rest is to fill the story.
Also, looking to the jungle, Walt cries out “Is it Vincent?” Michael says “Thats not Vincent”. Sounds a lot like when Claire said “Thats not Locke, thats my friend”.
So already Vincent seems to have been controlled by Smokie.
Anyway, its fantastic watching the opening episode again.
I think there was something odd about the way Jack wakes up alone in the jungle. And then he runs directly toward the beach – but we don’t hear any of the crash sounds until he reaches the beach and sees what is going on. So if he couldn’t hear the sounds – how’d he know which way to go? And it seems that after they time travel they come to without being able to hear so well at first.
