The Source of Energy

(I hope I’m not wrong here, I’m taking the time to put this into an embarrassing theory) You know how the Ice Age destroyed the dinosaurs?…..Wasn’t there supposed to be a large meteor that crashed on this planet and caused the Ice Age by throwing the magnetic poles out of whack?

I already feel like I’m in over my head, but what if that pocket of energy that resides far below the island is in fact the meteor that wiped out our beloved “Land Before Time” friends?

You’d think it would take an unmeasurable amount of energy to allow an island to travel through space/time. The magnetism alone in this pocket of energy is intense from what we’ve seen. One could say it all came from another place somewhere in the universe. It doesn’t mean Jacob/MIB are from another world, it just means the energy is. It would also be cool if the meteorite that destroyed Hurley’s favorite feeding ground was actually just a hint as to what this island really is.

I know this doesn’t say anything really, although it could put into perspective how long the island has had to be kept secret from the world through secret societies. Anyway, I can’t get into further explanations of things because I’m not a scientisicist. But if anyone can back this up or even say “this has been debunked for 6 years now.” please, let me know.

So......I guess LOST was a good show.....WAS a good show.

  1. People keep runining my “fun”…

I was writing a fun thought something to this nature…well mine would end with this idea actually…lol…I hadnt gotten that far yet…

I cant express how much I like this ‘out of the box’ thought from you Chief…

Its tasty, but your scaring me with the space stuff…
    ;]
    ;]

  2. btw…screw debunking…Im not believing ANYTHING that ANYONE says until I see it for myself…

The creators of this show have fought countless battles, mostly losing trying to protect their ideas…I think all the spoiler people will get a big surprise this year.

The creators say things, debunking them…and then riddle the show with ideas about it…look at aliens…they mess with us…ANYTHING is possible on Lost…especially in the coming weeks…

Great post…I kidd with you about the aliens…but my thought involved something to that nature…

  3. Im probably not going to write the theory now, but if you want, I can send you the link of pretty much every single detail I was going to include in my theory…

The connections you make from simply reading the wiki article will blow your mind…the book itself is even better…
    ;]

  4. Great minds think alike, and the even better ones think about the stuff before the other great minds do. I’m kiddin’ of course.

I was worried a lot of people have already thought of this in years past (I was a rather late bloomer to the show). It seems like it could be a possibilty. The only problem is, I think archeologists have found the meteor that destroyed the dinosaurs about ten years ago. And unluckily for me and this theory, it wasn’t on the LOST island.

Anyway, I hope you continue on to finish your thoughts. I always look forward to reading them, especially if it takes a few days to read it. Those are the good ones.

  5. These secret societies you speak of…that is really what I was talking about when referring to the illuminati and knights of Templar.

This really is exactly what Im talking about when I think about it…I love it!

And the more I think about the way you incorporated it with the end of time, so to speak, it really is something I didnt go after in my theory…but with alternate timelines, and things like that…wow…I like this the more i think about it…

  6. I just got your other comments.

I agree with what you’re saying. The writers and producers have said many things in the past regarding the show that have been false. It’s almost as if this show is so confusing, the WRITERS don’t even know what they’re about to write about the island. Only meteoric energy can confuse someone to that degree.

And sure, I’d click on the link if you threw it out here.

  7. I remember reading about the illuminati a long time ago in a post of yours (at least quite a few months back). We can almost bet that there’s some sort of secret society going on here. I guess I’ve just assumed it too much to really speculate.

  8. The cabin could be his little house, and why it seems to possess a different property of even life than anything else…

The Sahara Desert connection was fairly mind blowing to me, for it being the place where Ben and Locke went after turning the wheel, and the place where the prince is stranded and ultimately dies…

There is a volcano referenced on both…

    A reference of a Rose…maybe stretching a little…

The story is regarding the princes study of human nature…again sounding a lot like the conversation between Jacob and MIB…

The 6 adults he encounters an adult who is considered foolish in their own way…a drunk, a king, a conceited man, a business man, a geographer, and of course…a lamplighter.

There is also talk at the beginning of the story as the prince speaks to the narrator.
I thought it was a sort of connection of “snake”(monster?) to “sheep” (shepard/losties?) of what the prince wanted the narrator to draw for him…

There is talk of vivid hallucinations and interaction with a fox that shows him the ropes/way(hurleybird/horse?)

The most important thing I got in connection is at the end…the prince is dying, and tells the narrator not to worry about him…its only his body that is dying…

That was going to be the basis for my next theory…great connections…and I know you have heard that title before…

Im very happy you posted this. I was going to put mine in fun for the same reasons you were worried about this being embarrassing…great minds indeed…

  9. The source of the energy from a meteor is a cool idea…but think of this — the energy on the island is so great and of such a nature in relativistic physics that the material is more likely to “arrived” there then crashed there.

  10. Chiefof16: Yes, this explanation is rather far out, but of course– what isn’t in LOST? I think it’s a great thing to point out normal history as we know it and connect it to Island history somehow. I mean, the writers veered off crazily into a fantasy realm lately, but somehow I think they’ll find a way to wow us and show us that this world could really fit in and exist in the timeline we know in real life…

AES: I loved The Little Prince as a kid! I can’t believe I never drew that parallel before– even though they had that ep focused on Aaron called The Little Prince. I’m going to have to read through it and come back here to see if I pull any specific similarities. Hmmm. You’ve got my brain working!

Finally, AES AND Chief: GET A ROOM. Hahaha, just kidding. I love the back and forth going on here… I’d write a longer comment if I wasn’t at work… :X

  11. Get a room…thats funny…ok, I have to go watch Lost now…have fun at work… … …

Im sorry, that was just cruel…you know I joke Afar, lol…

  12. A.E.S. – After reading your connections/similarities to “The Little Prince”, it’s all pretty much there. I need to read the damn thing.

phunkjones – I assume you’re talking about the meteor coming to the Earth for a reason instead of just blindly crashing there. Interesting. I’d like to think there’s meaning behind it as well. If it actually plays out the way this theory says it will, I’ll laugh hysterically for a few hours, and then ponder whether or not the meteor had a purpose upon landing here.

A Day Afar – I really hope they try to tie this island in with something we can relate to throughout history.

“Get a room”? I don’t get it. I already have a room. Anyway, that really sucks you had to work though. I don’t know how you do it man 🙁

I literally just watched this episode with some popcorn and my girlfriend in my cozy, warm home. We even enjoyed the commercials. We chuckled at a few of them and reminded each other how great it was not to have to work on Tuesday nights. Weird…..

Anyway ADayAfar, I’m just jokin 🙂 …..We didn’t enjoy the commercials.

  13. Ok…Now is there ANY chance that this theory or my uncreated one could still be relevant after watching that episode…?

Im not going to lie…I hope the answer is no…this whole idea pretty much goes against everything I have ever said in terms of Jacob and MIB…but it sure makes a hell of a lot of sense when you put it into perspective…at least until about two and a half hours ago…

  14. Well, unless I’m missing something, we have yet to figure out the relation to the island’s scientific properties and MIB. Who is he and why is he trapped there?

If we’re really supposed to believe that Jacob is God and MIB is the devil, then yeah, hell would be a fitting description of the island. That’s crazy though. Are we really watching a show about that? I guess we might be.

  15. AES – is there a theory that is posted on here that you aren’t already working on yourself? j/k, I love your posts and comments.

I like the scientific explanation, anything along those lines will get my vote. But I think we are heading to a split science/religion finale. If MIB is the physical manisfestion of Hell/Darkness/Etc then that probably cannot be explained by science. But the creation of an Island to hold him might be able to be explained. Also, Jacob being able to touch people and make them live forever or be able to heal paralyzed people probably won’t be explained by science.

  16. Doublewide…I’d normally come back with some smart ass answer…but to be truthful…probably not.

I have 90+ theories on here now, few with any accuracy…and 5 pages of topics not posted in my profile…again, probably low accuracy…

I really doubt were goutier find much “new”stuff anywhere…meaning its more a game of adding fact and removing speculation…

OK..now I’m going to finish my theory of how Jacob’s touch wont be explained by science…
    😉

I half joke about new stuff above, but I am serious as well…with what we have left, I’m interested in something new right now, and. Chiefs idea is unique compared to mine…just wanted to show the similarity in thought..
