Who is the good guy anyway – Theories Contest ?

I think the Oceanic 815 Pilot was killed by Jacob although it was MIB that appeared to have performed the evil deed simply because Jacob didn’t want the candidates to have exit capabilities off the Island once they became captives.
Jacob was also responsible for blowing up the freighter in S4 (I think) and well as killing the Ajira flight pilot in 5 for similar reason. I believe Christian; who appeared to Michael before he died or got blown to pieces to be precise, while on the freightor, was Jacob because we now know the MIB could not “fly” over water. And who else had that supernatural ability to perform as such at that time?
Also I think Jacob and MIB did not kill Frank because he was a candidate. Remember, Frank was originally to be the 815 pilot but was replaced suspiciously beforehand.
My theory folks!

  1. Wolfix – you had some great thoughts…feels so good to talk about LOST again…thanks…I’m just confused on 2 issues.. Frank was the Ajira pilot so I’m not sure who you are saying was killed. Farnk emerging from the Ajira cabin was one of the “surprises” on that flight…that is why he was back on the island for teh finale(First time, he had come on the helicopter from the freighter with Miles, Charlotte and Daniel). Also, MIB admitted to Jack that he took the form of Christina originally for a while on the island so it had to be him who appeared to Michael and had Locke turn the donkey wheel, etc. MIB as Christian was using Michael to blow up the freighter with the candidates just as he has them blow up the sub themselves since he could not directly kill them.

  2. SORRY FOR AWFUL TYPOS PREVIOUSLY – corrected version below(I hope that is):

  3. Lostonlongisland sorry about the lack of info on my part. I meant to say and was referring to the co-pilot on the Ajira flight. If Frank was a candidate then Smokey or Jacob could only take out the next best thing, namely the co-pilot.
I agree that MIB looked suspect wrt the freighter explosion but he claimed to not have the ability to fly over water which I think was never disproved. Given this pivotal ‘fact’ how would he have gotten to the ship and back without a boat? I think it might have been Christian’s ghost only Michael saw, just before the explosion.
In keeping with the theory, the ship was also a great escape mode for everyone and I mean everyone. All the Losties could have left on it and there would have been no reason for anyone to ever return to the Island, so Jacob had to get rid of it.
As well, I think Michael was working for Jacob thru Widemore. Remember, Widemore and MIB were arch enemies.

  4. I have an addendum proof (if I may).
If memory serves, Michael & son, Sawyer and Jin built a boat which was intercepted by the Others who in turn kidnapped Walt. We now know he is/was ‘special’ being a reason the Others took him, but in accordance with my theory which is easily linked to a Jacob’s instruction set, the escape attempt was thrwarted sending the 2 candidates and Michael back to Islandville.

  5. I would like begin by saying I think most if not all the theories posted are better than this one. And I must say I don’t really like it (this theory that is) either, however as objectively as one can be under the circumstances, I think and would like ONLY to have it thought of as being viable. If there is anything left between the lines, I am saying I don’t want nor ever expected to have my theory vaguely considered and would be disappointed if it were. This site is fabulous fun and I write here for the fun of it. I know what I am about to say is a double edged sword but if this theory were actually considered, I would stop writing here. The 2nd edge being is maybe that’s what everyone wants ha..ha and maybe not even ha..ha.
Now having crazily preambled this comment away there was one and only one, as well as very likely last support for this theory concerning Jacob being the force behind the actions. Here you go…The only mother Jacob ever knew was Mother which makes him his Mother’s son.

  6. Hi Wolf! Good thoughts here…speaking of a double sided sword…

Its funny…your logic for why MIB was not Christian was the very same I used in a few of my Christian Shepard theories fighting the same battle…
On the other side of the blade, I have come to think that it was MIB after all…but was never fully convinced.
This is something I am curious if the “Lost Encyclopedia” book explains…? I know it has some answers that were never in the show, but havent gotten one yet.

So…on the subject of Christain, I have to honestly say that I am on the MIB was Christian boat…but hope you let me back on yours if I ever abandon ship…

Either way, nice thoughts overall, and I could definitely buy into Frank being a candidate…Ilana even alluded to it herself when they first found Frank…
