Because of this, he and Michael Dawson have a lengthy argument.; 2004 As Charlie Pace prepares to leave for his flight, he gets in a fight with Lily over the last of his heroin.; 2004 James "Sawyer" Ford is released from prison and deported by Australian authorities.; 2004 After discovering that he has slept in, Hugo "Hurley" Reyes makes a mad dash for the airport.; 2004 At Kingsford Smith International Airport, Jack Shephard argues with Chrissy, an Oceanic Airlines ticket agent, about allowing him to bring the coffin containing his dead father's body with him on the plane.; 2004 Jin-Soo Kwon is waiting in line at the Oceanic ticket counter while Jack is arguing with Chrissy. Unbeknownst to him, Sun-Hwa Kwon intends to leave the airport and disappear from his life, but decides against it at the last moment.; 2004 Ana Lucia Cortez is waiting in line at a ticket counter. Overhearing Jack arguing with Chrissy about his father, she decides to call her mother.; 2004 While in the airport, Charlotte Malkin approaches Eko Tunde and delivers a message to him from his brother Yemi Tunde that was given to her while she was "between places". Greatly disturbed and offended by Charlotte's words, Eko nearly loses it until Elizabeth "Libby" Smith intervenes.; 2004 Jack and Ana Lucia share a drink at an airport bar.; 2004 Kate Austen is checked in and tries to fight Edward Mars for the toy airplane.; 2004 Boone Carlyle fails to get him and Shannon Rutherford seats in first class. When Shannon learns about this, she reports Sayid Jarrah, who had asked her to watch his bag, to airport security out of frustration.; 2004 Michael makes a phone call to his mother about her taking custody of Walt. During this phone call, John Locke moves past Michael, still in his wheelchair.; 2004 Rose Nadler has a brief encounter with John Locke at the airport, noting his use of the wheelchair.; 2004 Nikki Fernandez and Paulo toast the success of their crime at an airport restaurant and are interrupted by Boone and Shannon arguing. They promise each other to never end up like the brother-sister duo.; 2004 Jin and Sun are preparing to have a meal at an airport restaurant when Sun accidentally spills coffee on her husband's shirt.; 2004 On his way to the bathroom to clean his shirt, Jin walks past Sayid, who is being escorted by airport security after they have verified that he is not a terrorist. In the airport bathroom, Jin encounters a man who is working for Jin's father-in-law, Woo-Jung Paik. The man threatens Jin, in Korean, that he should not try to run away with his wife.; 2004 Hurley rushes through the airport, overcoming various obstacles on his way, such as having to purchase a second ticket due to his size. At the luggage check point, he encounters Leslie Arzt.; 2004 John Locke is one of the first passengers to board Oceanic Flight 815. Because the special wheelchair used to carry handicapped passengers on board is missing, JD and Michelle have to carry him on board.; 2004 All the passengers board Oceanic Flight 815. Hurley is the last passenger to walk onto the plane.; 2004 04:15 GMT (14:15 Sydney time) - Oceanic Flight 815 departs from Sydney.; 2004 Approximately 10:00 GMT - the flight loses radio contact six hours after takeoff and turns south to circle back towards Fiji.; 2004 In the barracks, Juliet Burke bakes muffins and prepares her house for a book club meeting while listening to Downtown. She almost shows Benjamin Linus' X-Rays to Amelia, who is curious to why Juliet is visibly upset, until someone else arrives at her home for the club.; 2004 Desmond Hume follows Kelvin Inman out of the Hatch, and comes upon him repairing the Elizabeth. Enraged at being deceived, Desmond attacks and accidentally kills Kelvin.; 2004 4:16pm: When Desmond returns to the Swan, the computer has reached the end of its 108 minute countdown, causing a system failure. The station begins to release a massive electromagnetic pulse, causing ground-based earthquakes and skyward-directed electromagnetic energy.; 2004 12:00 GMT (00:00 Fiji time) - Eight hours after takeoff, Flight 815 nears the Island and encounters turbulence induced from the electromagnetic energy underneath the Swan overflowing due to the system failure. This eventually causes the plane to break up over the Island in mid-day.; 2004 Jack is talking to Rose when the turbulence begins.; 2004 Charlie is chased by the airline stewards into a first class bathroom when the turbulence begins.; 2004 Kate is with her captor Edward Mars when the turbulence begins.; 2004 The Barracks are shaken in an earthquake, interrupting Juliet's book club.; 2004 Still conscious in her seat next to Edward Mars, Kate is fully aware that the tail of the plane breaks off before watching in horror as the nose also shears away.; 2004 At the Barracks, the Others watch as Oceanic Flight 815 breaks apart above the Island. Benjamin Linus, anticipating that there will be survivors, orders Goodwin Stanhope and Ethan Rom to run to the crash sites of the tail section and fuselage, respectively. Seeing that Juliet Burke is holding a copy of Stephen King's Carrie, he comments to her that he must be out of the book club.; 2004 In the jungle immediately after the crash, Vincent runs amongst scattered pieces of luggage before coming upon a pair of white shoes worn by a man in a suit - Christian Shephard. Christian pets him briefly before telling the dog to go find his son. "He has work to do."; 2004 Jack Shephard awakens in a bamboo thicket, and sees Vincent run past. He gets to his feet and makes his way to the beach, where the survivors are panicking and calling out for their loved ones.; 2004 John Locke discovers that he can use his legs again.; 2004 Jack, Locke, and another survivor pull Tourniquet man out from under a piece of wreckage. Gary Troup is killed when he is sucked into one of Flight 815's engines. Jack gets Hugo "Hurley" Reyes to watch Claire Littleton and, after Boone Carlyle's failed attempt, manages to resuscitate Rose Nadler.; 2004 Nikki Fernandez searches through the wreckage for Paulo. She finds Leslie Arzt panicking, Boone asks her for a pen, and she finally finds Paulo staring out at the ocean, stunned. She immediately asks where the bag of diamonds is.; 2004 Meanwhile, Ana Lucia Cortez and Eko Tunde rescue tail section survivors. Ana Lucia resuscitates Emma, and promises to get her and Zach home to their mother. Elizabeth "Libby" Smith resets Donald's leg. Approximately 10 minutes after the crash, Goodwin rushes out of the jungle calling for help to rescue Bernard Nadler from a tree.; 2004 Immediately after the crash, Ben takes Juliet to visit The Flame communications station. A video link to Florida shows that Juliet's sister is alive and has a son. There is News footage of the missing plane. Mikhail Bakunin begins to gather information on Oceanic Flight 815's passengers and crew.; 2004 Jack gets Kate Austen to stitch his wound while he tells her the Count to five story.; 2004 Bernard asks Eko if he has found Rose, Bernard's wife. Eko says he will pray for her and for rescue. Goodwin tells Ana Lucia he is with the Peace Corps.; 2004 Later that night, Charlie Pace' relationship with Claire begins when he starts to help and reassure her after the crash.; 2004 Charlie and Sayid Jarrah build a signal fire. Boone and Shannon Rutherford discuss rescue, Hurley distributes food, Michael Dawson looks after Walter Lloyd, Jin-Soo Kwon tells Sun-Hwa Kwon to stay close, and Jack looks after Edward Mars.; 2004 Jack and Kate make a plan to find the cockpit in an effort to obtain the transceiver.; 2004 In the jungle near the mid-section crash site, the Monster uproots trees and makes frightening noises to the dismay of the survivors.; 2004 The Others kidnap three of the tail section survivors. They try to take Eko, but he fights them off, killing two.; 2004 We later see this date inscribed on Jin's grave off the island.
